The Standard We Follow
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA is the globally recognized standard for web accessibility. It ensures that digital content is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust — for people of all abilities and with a wide range of assistive technologies.
We chose this standard because our audience — adults navigating health, career transitions, and longevity — deserves a website that works reliably, regardless of vision, hearing, motor, or cognitive differences.
What We're Doing
Here are some of the specific steps we've taken to make primespan.life more accessible:
- Using proper heading structure (H1 → H2 → H3) to help screen reader users navigate the page easily.
- Providing descriptive alt text for all meaningful images so that screen readers can convey visual content to users who cannot see it.
- Maintaining sufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for body text) throughout the site.
- Ensuring all interactive elements (links, buttons, forms) are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone.
- Writing in plain language — clear, direct, and free of unnecessary jargon — to make content easier to understand for everyone.
- Designing pages that remain readable and functional when text size is increased up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Respecting the "Reduce Motion" system preference so that animations do not cause discomfort for users with vestibular sensitivities.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, some areas of primespan.life may not yet meet this standard. Known limitations include:
Certain third-party embedded content (such as video players, scheduling tools, or external forms) may have accessibility gaps that are outside our direct control. We are actively working with our platform providers to address these.
Some older content and PDFs may not be fully accessible. We are working to update these materials over time.
We disclose these limitations openly because we believe transparency is part of being genuinely accessible — not just compliant.
Assistive Technology Support
PrimeSpan.life is designed to work with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers: NVDA and JAWS on Windows; VoiceOver on macOS and iOS; TalkBack on Android.
- Keyboard-only navigation on modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
- Browser-based zoom and text resizing tools.
- High contrast and dark mode operating system settings.
